Dear parents and carers,
It has been lovely to welcome the children back to school. They are settling in well and becoming familiar with our new routines. The school feels so alive now they are all here!
During the next few weeks, the children will be exploring the new Mission that we have for the school.
A Mission statement encapsulates what our core beliefs are and how we choose to live as a school community. We call it ‘Our Mission’, because like the Mission Impossible films, it is a choice to get up and do something.
When speaking in Mexico City after the earthquake, Pope Francis was focussed on "education to hope". He explained that "There where God has sown you, He hopes!" He then told the children to Live, Love, Believe. We have chosen to adopt this as our Mission Statement.
Our new mission is underpinned by seven virtues – faith, hope, charity, wisdom, justice, courage and self control – all of which will be explored in class as we learn together how these virtues can help us live out our Mission of Live, Love, Believe.
We have uploaded the PowerPoint that we will be using with the children to the About Us tab on the website should you wish to look at this at home with your child.
Kind regards
Alison Langridge
